MacGregor’s Cave is reputed to be the place which a MacGregor hid from the redcoats before jumping across the river and escaping. The rock from which he jumped was removed when the hydroelectric system was built in the early 1900s. However, the present 'cave' was constructed as a folly in the 19th century. There is a beautiful long view west down the glen from the rock in front.
